Leah Shadwick is a licensed acupuncturist and board-certified Chinese herbalist. She attended the AOMA graduate school of integrative medicine and received a masters in Oriental Medicine (MAcOM). As part of her four-year training, she travelled to Chengdu, China, where she studied and embraced Chinese medicine theories, immersed herself in the culture, and pursued her love of Chinese herbology. While in China she successfully completed the International Traditional Chinese Medicine program in Chinese herbal medicine and acupuncture.
In addition to her schooling, Leah has worked in her hometown of New York City at the New Clinic, where she was mentored in their unique approach to integral medicine. Her training at the New Clinic focused on women’s health, fertility, and pregnancy care with Dr. Julie Von. She also gained experience treating a wide range of mental and emotional problems–including mood disorders, anxiety, neurosis, insomnia, and stress reduction. The high-paced lifestyle that can be common in New York City provided Leah with a lot of first-hand knowledge about how to help her clients cope with stress and more serious mental health issues.
She currently has Acupuncture Licenses (LAc.) in the states of New York and Texas. She practices primarily in Austin, but still maintains clients in New York. Leah has completed post-graduate training in Alchemical Acupuncture, which focuses on mental, emotional, and spiritual healing.
